Q3: Are wigs and hair extensions made with KANEKALON fibers heat-resistant? Can I use curling irons or hair dryers?

Some KANEKALON fibers are heat-resistant.
For example, hair attachments using the KANEKALON “futura” series and “Ultima” series can be styled with curling irons and hair dryers.

Even if a product is labeled as heat-resistant, excessive heat can still cause damage to the product or injury to users. Always follow the manufacturer’s instructions and handle the hair attachments gently to prevent tangling or damage.

Heat resistance varies by product, so please check the packaging or manufacturer’s information before use. Use the lowest recommended heat setting, and be cautious when using heat styling tools to avoid burns, damage, or accidents.

Q4: Can I do a Hot Water Set on braids made with KANEKALON fibers?
*Hot Water Set
A technology that allows to use hot water to set the curls and seal the tips to prevent loosening while maintaining its flexibility.

Yes. KANEKALON modacrylic fiber products can generally be set using hot water at 70–90°C (160–190°F).
Always follow the manufacturer’s instructions and recommended temperature settings, as these may vary by product.

Since hot water is involved, use appropriate protective measures (like wearing gloves or using appropriate tools while handling the product in hot water) to avoid burns or damage to the hair. When done properly, a Hot Water Set* helps keep your style neat and long-lasting.

Q5: Are hair attachments made with KANEKALON fibers safe? Do they affect the scalp or body?

KANEKALON is a synthetic fiber used as a raw material in hair attachments made by third-party manufacturers.
For safety information about finished products such as braiding hair, wigs, or extensions, please contact the product manufacturer directly.

At KANEKA, we prioritize the safety of fibers intended for hair attachments. Our fibers undergo third-party testing for skin irritation and skin sensitization (allergy) as part of our safety assurance process.

However, as finished hair attachments are made by third parties, who may include other materials or ingredients i in their proprietary products, those companies are responsible for the quality and safety of finished hair attachments.

To use hair attachments safely, always follow the manufacturer’s instructions and check the packaging carefully for care and safety information.

KANEKALON fibers are designed for use in standard hair attachments (braids, wigs, weaves, crochet, hair extensions, etc.). Do not use for other purposes, including hair transplantation on human skin. Like materials used in clothing, KANEKALON is a fiber, so don't try to eat or ingest hair products made with KANEKALON.

Individual reactions may vary. If you experience irritation such as itching or redness, stop using the product immediately and consult a medical professional.
