Kaneka Corporation is proud to announce that Esther Chukwujekwu has been named Miss Kanekalon® 2015. Ms. Chukwujekwu was selected from a field of more than 3,000 applicants from Nigeria, all of whom were consumers of hair extensions that utilize Kanekalon synthetic fibers. The event took place on November 14, 2015, in Lagos, the largest city in Nigeria where Kaneka manufactures its Kanekalon fibers.
Kaneka has held waves of successful hair-show events in Africa since 2010. More than 700 observers gathered to watch this year’s celebration, which drew more than 3,000 contenders for the highly coveted role of Miss Kanekalon 2015. Candidates were selected based on dual criteria: their superior personification of Kanekalon quality and how they have worked toward achieving their own dreams. Miss Kanekalon and two runners-up will serve as Kanekalon brand ambassadors for one year.
The event featured a concert by a popular singer as well as a hairstyle show representing the latest design trends. Kaneka invited consumers from Nigeria via Facebook, and word was also spread among hairstylists and industry insiders, Kaneka’s business partners and the press. The result was an audience that far exceeded Kaneka’s initial expectations and generated waves of interest for Kanekalon synthetic fibers and hair-extension products.
Kanekalon entered the African hair-care marketplace in 1983, and since then, its products have become synonymous with safe, quality extensions for all African women. Kanekalon proudly states, “We care about beauty, but we care just as much about the safety of our products,” which solidifies its commitment to serving its customers with the highest quality hair care.
This ongoing promise to its devoted customer base has helped to make Kanekalon the top brand in Nigeria.
